David Snyder – Co-Founder and Place Leader
David leads TTM’s fee for service consultancy team. He is a ‘doer’ and believes in enabling communities to get more involved and work in positively partnerships with government to deliver better community, environmental and economic outcomes.
In his spare time David continues to be active in his community meeting new people, hanging with mates at his local cafe and listening to great funky music.
Kylie Elsegood-Smith – Town Team Builder
Kylie spent the last 20 years working in management in a corporate environment. In her spare time she worked closely with a number of local community groups to create fun and lively places.
The Town Team Builder role will support, connect and promote the town teams, work on projects to help the teams and help address common issues/challenges.
Jimmy Murphy – Co-Founder and Director of Relationships
Jimmy is one of the animating forces behind the formation of the Town Team Movement. He is now the Convenor of the Board and Director of Relationships.
As a student, Jimmy studied both marketing and music, combining his two study areas as well as his passion for community he founded the Funk Club in early 2000’s which was a musicians and music lovers club based in Leederville and went on to become a prominent promoter in the music and festival scene. Jimmy co-founded Upbeat Events in 2010, which worked with councils and Town Teams to help produce large scale community events such as the Subiaco Street Party, Mt Hawthorn Streets and Lanes Festival, Vic Park Summer Street Party and Light Up Leederville Carnival.
When not at work Jimmy enjoys playing the trumpet around town and spending time with his two daughters.
Emma Gibbens – Organising and Operations Manager
Emma has a decade of experience in political campaigning across the United States and around the world. More recently, Emma was the WA state director for the YES to marriage equality campaign, with WA achieving the second highest YES vote in the national survey.
Emma is skilled at helping individuals and organisations connect, engage, and activate any audience. Working one-on-one or in large groups, she helps bring stories and people-centred messages to the forefront. This approach has proven to be incredibly effective at convincing and motivating people to action.
Organising and Operations Manager. Emma will be using her experience in building grassroots movements to help scale the Town Team Movement.
Dean Cracknell – Co-Founder and Chief Doer
Dean Cracknell is a co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Town Team Movement.
He previously worked in local government for 12 years as a strategic urban planner/placemaker and was Deputy Chair of the first town team – the Beaufort Street Network – for 4 years.
He loves traveling, drinking coffee and brewing kombucha. He likes football – AFL, NFL and soccer.
Manon Arnold – All-Round Superstar
Manon works in the sponsorship team at UpBeat Events, an event management company specialising in street festivals, and has more recently joined the Town Team Movement, undertaking the duties of general administrator, as well as assisting in the production of their annual Town Team Conference 2019.
Having worked closely with town teams in the creation of unique community-focussed street festivals in her current role has meant she has seen first hand the passion and drive each town team has for their community, and is very excited to be working with the organisation driving movement.
